Our Team
Florence Medical Centre – General Practitioners & Nurse Practitioners
Our GPs are all very highly experienced and enjoy the variety that general practice offers.
Dr Tom Croker – Not Currently Taking Patients
I trained at Auckland Medical School in the 1980's and then spent a couple of years of working at Waikato Hospital before venturing to the UK.
I undertook General Practice training in Eastbourne, on the south coast of England where I spent 3 and a half years working. I tried to travel as much as work & study would allow before returning home to New Zealand.
Since then, I have worked in General Practice, initially in Auckland for about 12 years, before moving to Nelson in 2009. I really enjoy living and working in Nelson, especially the great access to so many outdoor activities including mountain biking, tramping, and skiing. Another interest of mine is the French language. If you talk to me in French, I will do my best to reply in kind, but it’s definitely better if we do consultations in English.
Dr Bridget MacDonald – Currently on Maternity Leave
A graduate of Otago University in 2012, I spent several years in hospital-based medicine and completed further qualifications in Women’s Health and Paediatrics in Sydney.
I returned to Nelson to complete my GP training. I absolutely love the huge variety in General Practice. The long-term relationships formed with my patients and their whanau is important to me.
In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors: tramping and kayaking with my partner and our dog. I also spend plenty of time in my garden and with our pet chickens.
Dr Nick Bardsley – Taking Limited Patients
While I was born in the UK I’ve lived in Nelson since I was 5 which is very much my home.
I went to Enner Glynn Primary School and Nelson College before attending Otago University. I moved from Dunedin to Christchurch Hospital for 2 years before moving back to Nelson with my wife in 2016.
We had a wonderful time working in Nelson Hospital for 5 years where I worked in a variety of departments and completed my Postgraduate Diploma in Children’s Health.
I always intended to transition into General Practice and finally made the move once we started growing our family to include 2 beautiful daughters.
I love my job and am enjoying the unique challenges that come with General Practice. I appreciate the patient continuity I get with General Practice which is sorely lacking in other areas of medicine.
Dr Nicola Munro – Not Currently Taking Patients
I graduated from Auckland Medical School then moved to the UK for several years where I rotated through various specialties in the hospital system there.
I returned to NZ and completed my GP training, moving to Nelson in 2007 with our 3 children. I love all aspects of General Practice with a special interest in the neurodivergent community (ADHD, autism), mental health and transgender health care.
When I'm not at work I enjoy walking our two golden retrievers, gardening, or cooking.
